Junior Brian Kemp will serve as a co-captain for the St. Johns baseball team in this years 2009 season. A freshman All-American and third team All-BIG EAST selection in 2007, Kemp has led the team in stolen bases in each of the past two seasons. The centerfielder boasts a .352 career batting average and has collected 130 hits in 92 games. This past summer Kemp scored the winning run in the Cape Cod Baseball League Championship giving Harwich a 2-1 win over Cotuit. St. Johns starts their season Feb. 20th when they travel to Florida to take on Penn State, followed by games on the 21st and 22nd vs Iowa State and Michigan.
