Last night, for those of you who don't know, was the First Annual Fred Thacher Scholarship Alumni Basketball Game. I'm guessing a lot of you alum didn't know cause it seemed to be done last minute. But it seemed like there was a good turnout which was great to see. There were t-shirts for sale, three games, and contests between the games. All the proceeds are going to the memorial fund and the Thacher family is hoping to raise enough money to present two, $1,000 scholarships annually to one boy and one girl from the senior class. Obviously the alumni boys defeated the current Harwich High School boys basketball team, which had lone SSL All-star Curtis Henderson and meaningless freshman Jake Malone.
With that being said it was a great fun night for everyone involved and hopefully we'll see an even bigger turnout next year.
