Burnett, Yanks Tie Series
Burnett pitches a very strong seven innings and Mo gets a six-out save in the Yankees 3-1 over the Phillies. Teixeira and Matsui each hit solo homers in the win.
Pettitte and Hamels are set to start game three Saturday in Philadelphia.

The Life & Times of Jared Wilson

Lets get right into it...
Jared had plans to go up to his place in Providence for a couple nights mid-July, and I thought, what the hell why not go with him. Fast forward to the second night, Jared and the roommates have plans to invite some people over to the house for a small get together. Earlier that day Jared and I go to the liquor store and pick up a 30, a bottle of SoCo, and for some reason Jared wanted tequila.
I'm gonna take a shot in the dark and say we started drinking around 7. So after probably 3 beers or so Jared breaks out the SoCo and lime shots. We do one... then two... and three... and four, then I head back to the beers and Jared does like two or three more shots, and if I'm not mistaken this is still before anyone arrives. Okay so now there's around 14 people there maybe (including Jared, five people live there and I make six so eight other people, nothing crazy) and Jared starts pouring some tequila shots I take two, Jared most likely puts back like five plus.
At this point there's probably five people left at the house and we walk to the nearby gas station for some food. Jared doesn't want anything so I sit with him outside and wait for the others. We weren't sitting for more then two minutes and I look to my right and he's laying down in mulch right by the red-box dvd machine. So a roommate and I walk Jared back to the apartment and he's off to bed.
And yes, that is a below average night for Jared Wilson.

The C's Just got Rondo'd
"We're not going to do an extension right now," Duffy told Yahoo! Sports. "The conversation has been cordial. We've been talking the last couple of weeks. There is a difference between the perception of him in their eyes and our eyes. With that being said, the focus is on Rajon to have a fantastic season and concentrate on winning a championship."
Duffy said he is looking for a deal that would make Rondo one of the NBA's top five highest-paid point guards. According to Duffy, the Celtics "feel differently," Yahoo! Sports reported.
An unnamed source told Boston sports radio station WEEI that the Celtics offered Rondo a five-year, $45 million extension (an average of $9 million per year), but Rondo is seeking a five-year deal worth between $55 million and $60 million (an average of $11 million to $12 million per year).
Should Rondo become a restricted free agent, he could receive contract offers from other teams after the season. The Celtics would have the right to match any offer he received.
Rondo is making $2.3 million this season in the last year of his rookie contract. He averaged 11.9 points, 8.2 assists and 5.2 rebounds per game last season.

Little Fockers
Robert DeNiro and Ben Stiller were spotted in Los Angeles shooting scenes for the sequel to Meet The Fockers entitled Little Fockers. The plot of the movie is basically the Byrnes family and Focker family gearing up for the arrival of a baby. Jessica Alba will also have a role in the film where she plays a pharmaceutical rep. The film is set to hit theaters in July 2010.

Back Where They Belong
The Yankees defeat the Angels 5-2 to move on to the World Series. CC Sabathia is the ALCS MVP, Andy Pettitte gets his 16th postseason win for the most all-time, Mo gets another save to add to his postseason record. Now the Bombers will take on the Phillies in their new ballpark on wednesday.

Lil Wayne Expected to get a Year Behind Bars
Wayne is expected to get a year in jail at his court sentencing in February after pleading guilty thursday to a two-year-old gun case. Lil Wayne admitted he had a loaded gun on his tour bus in 2007 when his bus was stopped after a Manhattan concert.

Air Jordan Fusion 13 Series
Jordan Brand gives us a closer look into their upcoming Fusion 13 series, which includes two original colorways of the Air Jordan XIII meshed with the features of Nike’s Air Force 1 silhouette. Both versions will release this Holiday season, with the latter dropping in December 2009 and its counterpart (White) releasing on November 21st, 2009.
